Application Engineer (Portable Automation) (m/w/d)
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer with a strong metrology background to provide technical support for automation and laser tracker systems. This role will involve working directly with customers, delivering software training, troubleshooting, and offering on-site support for metrology and automation solutions. If you have a background in mechanical engineering, a keen interest in robotics, and experience in metrology software, this is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities
* Provide applications support for metrology software, including Spatial Analyzer, PC-DMIS, and Polyworks.
* Deliver customer training on software and hardware solutions for laser trackers and automation cells.
* Lead on-site support for programming, post-process analysis, and troubleshooting.
* Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful delivery of complete automation solutions.
* Support customers by identifying and solving technical challenges, ensuring project success.
* Assist in testing and proving out programs before delivery to customers.
* Travel frequently to customer sites (up to 80%).
Qualifications
* Strong background in metrology, with experience in software like Spatial Analyzer, Polyworks, and PC-DMIS.
* Degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field.
* Keen interest in robotics and automation technology.
* Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.
* Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience.
* Willingness to travel extensively to customer locations.
