Job description
Main Purpose of Role:
The successful candidate will work as part of a small team to deliver a customer-focused, confidential, and professional HR service to Officers, staff, and external customers. Responsibilities include providing advice in line with Nottinghamshire Police Policies and Procedures; checking and processing HR requests; updating and maintaining employee records accurately on an electronic HR platform; and being the first point of contact for day-to-day HR enquiries, taking ownership, researching, and responding efficiently.
The candidate should be customer-driven, able to problem solve, demonstrate good time management skills, and handle a varied workload. On-the-job training will be provided, but candidates must show an interest in Human Resources and a willingness to learn and develop.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
Understanding of office management systems, including Microsoft Office IT packages, with previous administrative experience. Strong time management skills are essential, as is knowledge of Human Resources or general administration procedures. The ability to multitask, problem-solve, and organize effectively is important. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to interact professionally with all members of the organization. Strong customer-focused skills and a desire to get tasks right the first time are also necessary.

Current Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner staff applicants should note that Nottinghamshire Police would be a new employer. However, all tenure and length of service will be honoured under an existing agreement.
