Interim Unit 4 Technical Architect

Pay Rate: up to £555.00 per day PAYE depending on experience (tbc)
Working Hours: 35-37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
Duration: This opening assignment is for 4-5 months
City: REIGATE
Note: The pay rate is provisional only and the ad will be amended with the confirmed rate once received.
Remote Work: The role will be remote, but attendance might be required to key meetings in Reigate. Good notice will be given of these, and upon initial start in the post, the post holder would be required to come and meet the team for introductions. Expenses will not be paid for these.
A highly skilled technical architect on a temporary basis to assist in looking at the County Council set up of My Surrey. This will involve looking at Forms, Service Calls, Workflows, Security and our procurement and finance set up. Once reviewed, the architect should make recommendations on how Unit 4 architecture can be stabilised and improved. This is not a hands-on role to do the technical work but to advise on the overall architecture and setup of various elements of Unit 4 and advise on technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review the Unit 4 architecture within SCC and document as appropriate.
2. Advise on the set up of security and make recommendations.
3. Advise on the Unit 4 workflow and make recommendations.
4. Advise on the Service call and Forms set up and make recommendations.
5. Work with the Managed Service Provider and Unit 4 to agree and plan solutions.
6. This role will be involved in delivering the Unit 4 Stabilisation Programme and report to the Lead Solutions Architect and the Programme Leads.
7. This role may on occasion be asked to present their findings to the Sponsors and Senior Boards.
8. Will collaborate extensively with the whole programme team.
9. Help SCC stabilise the Unit 4 platform so it can transition to BAU and share knowledge to upskill SCC team members.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is a plus.
Experience:
1. Proven experience as a technical architect or similar role, with a strong background in system design and architecture.
Skills & Abilities:
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
2. Proficiency in software development methodologies, programming languages, and database technologies.
