Role Overview
The Design Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the successful coordination of gas infrastructure design projects, acting as a key interface between clients, site teams, and subcontractors. The role requires expertise in National Gas specifications, policies, and procedures, as well as a strong understanding of design processes within the sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the design process, ensuring compliance with TD/1, TD/13, and the National Gas Design Change Process.
* Act as an Interface Engineer, liaising between clients, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
* Ensure designs comply with National Gas specifications, policies, and procedures, particularly T/PM/G/35.
* Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout the design lifecycle.
* Attend site visits 1–2 days per week as required by the Project Manager or Construction Manager.
Candidate Requirements:
* Chartered Engineer status preferred.
* Previous experience as a Design Coordinator within the gas industry (National Gas/National Grid experience advantageous).
* Strong knowledge of gas infrastructure design standards and compliance requirements.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely.
