Our client is a fast paced and continually growing business located near to Bury. They are seeking a talented Bookkeeper / Assistant Management Accountant to work in a busy office. The role will be very hands on and transactional as well as being able to progress within the role, which can lead to a Management Accounts position. Benefits and Hours: Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (negotiable) Hours : Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours. Flexible start times to suit. 8am, 8.30am or 9am Hybrid : Following the initial training period, 1 or potentially 2 days’ a week work from home. Full Time / Office Based / Permanent. Perks : 25 days holiday, Free parking, Pension scheme, Vibrant office The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of working within an accounts role, confident in producing accounts to trial balance stage, overseeing purchase & sales ledgers, VAT filings and reconciliation work. Experience of support and preparation of Management Accounts is preferred. A user of Sage software is essential. Principal Responsibilities/Accountabilities of the Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant role: Reporting into the Management Accountant, the workload will vary widely and include the following: Processing Invoices, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Credit Control duties High volume Balance sheet and Statement reconciliations Support with the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with best practices Balance Sheet Reconciliations VAT Returns Dealing with accounts queries with confidence, which includes liaison with their European office - has the support of the Management Accountant Liaison with suppliers, customers and subcontractors As a small office team, there will be additional administrative tasks Skills and Experience required Ideally qualified to AAT L4 / CIMA or studying towards or equivalent experience Excellent standard of Sage Line 50 is required Good computer literacy - experience with MS Office is essential - Word & Excel Ability to work in an office with 'banter’, though equally be able to focus and hold strong attention to detail which is essential Comfortable working in a busy office environment Enthusiasm and passion for your work Team player comfortable taking direction and guidance Ability to work independently and proactively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and written Flexible and comfortable with growth and change in a great business
