We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assessment & Engagement Worker to work with service users and multi-agency team members in an essential liaison role.
This full time, permanent position will focus on drawing in local community assets to support the delivery of recovery focussed outcomes, promoting and creating opportunities in visible recovery, harm reduction and brief interventions in the hub reception areas.
Main duties of the job
* Work as an integral part of the service in delivering high quality interventions within the hub.
* Work with and support the Inclusion multi-disciplinary team
* Facilitate harm reduction interventions
* Support service users who are attending the reception area of the service.
* Contribute to service users working collaboratively to build their recovery capital and ensuring positive recovery outcomes.
* Ensure service users have scheduled appointments and remove barriers to attendance.
* Promote visible recovery in the hub, especially in reception areas.
* Reduce drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
* Ensure that your work is evidence based, up to date and in accordance with current policy and legislation.
* Ensure the reception environment is welcoming and accessible.

Job responsibilities

* Manage the reception area of the hub to ensure effective brief interventions are facilitated by staff and Recovery Supporter Volunteers.
* Work with service users in attendance and manage day-to-day issues which arise in the reception area.
* Take the lead in managing complex behaviours in the reception and surrounding areas.
* Signpost to local services and empower service users to build their community networks and recovery capital.
* Promote visible and contagious recovery in the reception areas of the hub.
* Ensure that the reception team works effectively in relation to Inclusion policies and procedures.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Willingness to undertake NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
Experience and Knowledge
* Understanding and awareness of the effects of substance misuse on an individual and the community
* Sound experience of working with techniques such as CBT, Motivational interviewing and Solution focused therapy
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
