I am looking for an Engineering Technician to join my client who is a Bristol-based biotech developing next-generation IVD's for bloodstream infections.
As an Engineering Technician, you will be involved in fabricating, assembling, and testing prototypes, microfluidic chips, and test rigs while maintaining workshop operations. Key responsibilities include operating laser cutters and 3D printers, calibrating and maintaining workshop equipment, assembling and troubleshooting prototypes, conducting small-scale production of microfluidic chips, and supporting engineers with fabrication tasks.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree or completed an apprenticeship, with experience in a workshop or lab setting. They should have excellent attention to detail, proficiency with high-precision components, small-scale manufacturing, and hands-on experience with engineering tools. Strong teamwork and communication skills, along with basic software proficiency (e.g., Excel), are essential. Desirable qualifications include familiarity with CAD software, experience in metrology or precision measurement, and a background in biomedical or diagnostics development, particularly with microfluidics or microfabrication techniques. Knowledge of ISO-13485-compliant quality management systems is a plus.
This role is a permanent, full-time role with a salary of up to £32,500 based in Bristol.
