Internal Auditor
We are recruiting for an Internal Auditor to provide independent, objective assurance to the Audit Committee on the effectiveness of Whitbread’s system of risk management and internal control environment, across all business units in the UK and internationally. Also, to support Whitbread to accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance as well as providing consulting advice to add value and improve operations

Location: Dunstable (Hybrid) 3 days in the office per week

What you will be doing:
1. Assist with devising annual audit plan for Whitbread, including risk assessments and discussion with senior stakeholders.
2. Plan and scope internal audit reviews, including meeting key stakeholders and drafting Terms of Reference.
3. Meet with stakeholders, understand design of key controls
4. Determine testing approach including consideration of risk analysis and data analytics
5. Carry out detailed testing to identify issues.
6. Work alongside co-source resources/specialists and coordinate work
7. Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure they are aware of the issues being identified through the audit.
8. Draft high quality, clear, concise audit reports, which clearly identify issues, risks and recommendations for the business.
9. Conduct close meetings with management to present findings and agree remedial actions.
10. Monitor implementation of control recommendations and assist in reporting status to the Board and Audit Committee.
11. Help stakeholders to assess and manage risks, understand where processes could go wrong and what improvements could be made.
12. Work with the Internal Audit function to increase maturity of risk management processes across the company.
