Job overview
We are looking for an Administration Assistant to join the Neurology & Neurophysiology Department at Torbay Hospital. Our Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the administrative coordination of the Neurophysiology service and support to the Neurology team.
They will need to be proficient in customer service skills, keyboard skills, communication, and coordination and will be required to be good communicators and work both independently and as part of the team. They will provide administrative and clerical support to ensure an effective and efficient service in line with Standard Operating Procedures and ensure that patients are treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Open and close relevant clinics.
* Set up new or additional clinics.
* Communicate with clinicians/technicians and wards.
* Process triaged referrals.
* Send out completed reports.
* Order consumables.
* Ensure that all filing including emails is completed accurately and efficiently.
Person specification
Knowledge and experience
* Experience of Administrative/typing duties.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
* Proven experience of providing a customer-focused service.
* Experience of coordinating clinics.
* Knowledge of Trust Patient Administrative and Information Systems.
* Understanding of Patient Tracking Lists (PTL).
* Knowledge of a range of patient computer software packages e.g., e-Referrals, Infoflex, CRIS etc.
Specific Skills
* Use and set up of Timetables.
* Communication.
* GCSE grades including Maths and English.
