What You'll Do
This role will engage and build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business, within procurement, and externally, to develop commercial strategies, source and contract the goods and services required to meet the business needs.
You will:
* Deliver strategic sourcing events and collaborate with stakeholders to provide optimal solutions for National Grid.
* Develop and execute sourcing strategies, ensuring best-in-class procurement processes that drive value.
* Work with Contract Managers to ensure successful delivery of contracts and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
* Mentor and guide Buyers and Associate Buyers to adopt best-in-class procurement methodologies.
* Research supply markets to assess trends and provide valuable insights to Global teams.
* Manage tender events and contribute to robust forecasting processes to maximise the value of procured goods and services.
What You'll Bring
* Extensive Experience: Significant experience in strategic sourcing and category management, ready to make an impact!
* Project Management Skills: A solid understanding of project management principles, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects and consistently delivering outstanding results.
* Negotiation Expertise: Strong ability to prepare for and lead negotiations, ensuring the best outcomes for National Grid.
* Commercial Acumen: Proficient in building and managing complex commercial assessment models to drive strategic decisions.
* Contract Development Experience: Demonstrated experience in contract development, including making recommendations, amending existing contracts, and drafting new agreements.
* Industry Knowledge: Experience in UK Fleet procurement within a regulated company is preferred, bringing valuable insights to the role.
What You'll Get
A competitive salary between £46,415 – £58,760 – dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. More Information
* This role is offered on a Full-Time, Permanent basis.
* We are also offering hybrid/flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need. Base location for this role will be National Grid House, Warwick.
* It is anticipated that some international business travel may be required as part of this role.
