We’re looking for a Facilities Management Coordinator to join our Facilities team
Welwyn Garden City, covering our southern sites
About Facilities Management
This newly created role will be based at our UK Headquarters in Welwyn Garden City and will oversees and coordinate the FM service at Welwyn Garden City, as well as our Dunstable Distribution Centre and Redditch production site. The postholder is responsible for the maintenance and development of these sites, under the guidance of the UK Facilities Manager.
Each of the sites has different demands and will require a variety of facilities management skills to ensure the ongoing fitness of our working environments.
Facilities are the backbone of any company. They are responsible for ensuring the buildings are fit for purpose, safe and functional. They are responsible for everything from security to cleaning and are the key contact for our staff.
Purpose of the Role
The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of FM – if you also have a solid grasp on the more technical elements of FM, that would be ideal, although not a requirement. With proven experience in improving operational management of premises, the FM Coordinator will thrive when managing competing priorities. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working with a variety of people and managing stakeholder expectations. Organisation and attention to detail will be key skills for the role, as will building relationships across departments to foster excellent teamwork.

The Opportunity:
Sika UK are on a journey in creating a new strategic FM function. You will play a key role in delivering a number of improvements and projects as well as contributing to the delivery of the new FM strategy.
These will include:
* Site compliance – you will take a proactive approach to facilities compliance through regular inspections and timely response to any non-compliant issues identified, working with key stakeholders to rectify. There is a requirement for you to keep up to date with facilities-related legislation.
* Site development / renovations / office moves – You will be instrumental of the development of our offices in Welwyn Garden City. We have embarked on an exciting and ambitious plan to transform our Estate, starting with Welwyn Garden City Site C. You will be involved in the development of the plans and transformation of the space. Furthermore, you will be the key FM contact in Welwyn Garden City and will coordinate other FM-led projects as required, including small office moves.
* Site maintenance – you will manage FM-related reactive maintenance issues and manage the FM helpdesk, seeing through issues to completion by engaging with key stakeholders and utilising appropriate internal and external resources, as required. You will also respond to unforeseen events affecting FM and the workplace in a timely and proportionate way.
As the role covers our three southern UK sites, some travel from time-to-time maybe required.

To succeed in this role, you will possess excellent time management skills and be able to juggle many balls and prioritise your workload. You may come with some prior project management experience or be able to demonstrate how you would manage projects if you haven’t had that opportunity yet. You’ll be able to work autonomously, building a network around you who you can draw expertise from. You’ll be dealing with people at all levels, and you need to be able to deliver excellent customer service to those stakeholders, so great communication skills will be crucial.

Qualifications
* IWFM Level 4 qualified (or working towards) or equivalent
* Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
* IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to undertake)
* FM helpdesk exposure
* Full UK driving license is required
