Our team at Glebelands Day Services is looking for a Support Worker to join us. Within our day opportunity services, we support our individuals to live the life they choose, champion 'ordinary life', and feel part of their local communities.
Salary: £19,054 - £19,372 per annum
Working Pattern: Part time 30 hours Monday to Friday (8:30 - 5:30pm)
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Glebelands Day Services, Shoreham by Sea
*Please note for this role Tuesday is the set day off every week, this is not negotiable due to existing staffing arrangements.

About Glebelands
We support people to achieve their personal aims and goals and provide a wide range of activities to help maintain and develop daily living skills.
Glebelands has a range of facilities and areas to support activities, including:
* Accessible training kitchen
* Sensory/relaxation room
* Pottery studio, which has its own kiln
* Art and crafts room
* Gardening rooms and greenhouse
* Computer suite
* Games and mobility area
* An accessible lounge for relaxation, music, and occasional karaoke
Key Skills
(Please note these will be used for shortlisting; please refer to these points in your application).
* A basic understanding of the needs of the people you will be supporting and their rights as individuals.
* Ability to identify basic practical solutions and be kind, supportive, encouraging, and non-judgemental while building on people's strengths.
* Able to communicate clearly with the people who use the service and participate in conversations with family members and professionals.
* The ability to adapt communication appropriately and use suitable tools where needed (e.g., basic Makaton).
Qualifications and/or Experience
* Adult Care Worker - Level 2 or equivalent is desirable. If you are new to care or have experience in care and do not have this qualification, there is a requirement for you to begin within the first 6 months of starting in the role.
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills in order to record and document activities.
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid, and Fire procedures, Moving and Handling of people is also desirable.
* Post holder will hold a UK full driving license - desirable but not essential
