EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.
In particular, EDF EPR-E UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.
At HPC we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
For the HPC and SZC project, we are looking to recruit for the role of Electrical Distribution System Contract Engineering Lead to support the development of the electrical discipline within EPR-E.
Main Responsibilities
As Electrical Distribution System Contract Engineering Lead, your main responsibilities will encompass the following:
1. Be the entry point for the client organization concerning all topics linked to the low voltage switchboard contract and provide support to the Client organization for technical issues resolution.
2. Ensure the technical management of the supplier, and support the Client in its contractual relationship with the supplier during the contract execution phase (in particular with regard to compliance with the schedule, costs, and scope of supply and studies).
3. Support the review of our supplier documents according to technical referential in time with the appropriated level of quality and coordinate the documentation review of the various contributors.
4. The Contract Engineering Lead will be supported by a technical lead and system engineer as well as dedicated experts, the CEL in this case will be coordinating their work so that document/topics are handled in time.
5. Produce and coordinate comment sheets to be sent to the supplier via a dedicated tool and organise clarification with supplier when needed.
6. Manage modifications on the contracts to inform supplier via CTS (Contract Transfer Sheet) sent to the Client via dedicated tools.
7. Be the entry point for all modifications and impact assessment for the scope of the contract managed, technical issues or non-conformities coming from site activities.
8. Ensure the management of risks, opportunities, open points and modifications of its contract with the Client.
9. Manage the interfaces with all Edvance disciplines involved in providing the input data relevant for the low voltage switchboard contract.
10. Manage the interfaces with all Edvance disciplines using the low voltage switchboard contract’s detailed design as their inputs.
11. Manage the interfaces the qualification part performed in EDVANCE France.
12. Follow up of all the Delivery To Site dates for the equipment.
Profile
To be considered the following qualifications, experience and skills are essential:
1. Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
2. Experience in work related to electrical distribution components and technical documentation review.
3. Ability to effectively manage own workload in order to produce high quality documents and respect deadlines.
4. Good interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally, in English.
6. Proactive and confident in communicating with others, particularly those based in remote offices including France.
7. Proactive in developing positive working relations with others within the project.
8. Continuously looking for opportunities to improve quality of engineering studies and the subsequent documentation produced.
Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
1. Relevant experience in the nuclear industry.
2. Knowledge of EPR electrical distribution design principles, Instrumentation and Control architecture and Safety Classification.
3. Knowledge of the RCC-E electrical technical regulations and the technical reference system (NFC15-100 / NF C 13-200 / BS7671 / IEC 60909).
4. Experience of working on an operating plant or on an industrial site.
