Behaviour Mentor (Classroom Based) Teaching Personnel are recruiting enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors to work in Secondary schools across Newport and Cwmbran. We're looking for candidates with experience in, or passion for, supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those with behavioural needs. About: We are currently seeking several full-time, long-term behaviour mentors in the Newport area. We also offer flexible arrangements, including part-time and ad-hoc work to fit your schedule. Hours: You must be available 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday. Start date: April 2025 Contract: Until the end of the academic year, however there will be an opportunity to join the school on a permanent basis from September 2025 pending a successful review in July. We need Behaviour Mentors for both one-to-one and group support. The salary varies as follows: Hourly: £13.75–£16.93 / Daily: £89.38–£110 (Paid PAYE - Term Time Only) In this role, you'll work with students aged 11-16, supporting various special educational needs including autism, global developmental delay, profound multiple learning disabilities, speech and language difficulties, and social emotional mental health needs. You'll collaborate with classroom teachers to enhance students' academic and social development, maintaining discipline while promoting positive behaviour.
