We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP New Hall based in Wakefield.
HMP New Hall is a female adult and young offenders institution offering medium level of security with a population of 344 females.
The Primary Care Clinical Lead will look after a team of 15 members in the primary care team which will consist of senior staff nurses, registered nurses, and healthcare assistants.

Hours: Monday - Friday - 37.5 hours per week 8am - 4pm or we can offer 37.5 hours per week over 4 days.
Salary: This position is full-time, you'll receive an annual salary between £49,848 - £55,996 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main Duties of the Job
As a Primary Care Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.
* Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
* Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high-quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
* Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication, and competence.
* Coach, line manage, and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non-clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
* Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry out investigations locally and for the wider region.

Person Specification
* Registered Nurse Adult Current professional qualification (NMC)
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
