An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team based in Hull, United Kingdom. You will work at the Hull Production Plant as well as various satellite plants located on our customer sites around the plant location. This role will report directly to the Facility Manager and will be crucial to ensuring the safe, legal, reliable, and efficient operation of the plants.
As our Electrical Technician, you will:
1. Ensure all work is carried out following our EHSQ procedures including issuing of safe work permits.
2. Ensure compliance with preventative maintenance requirements for the facility & satellites.
3. Resolve trade specific & process related issues and breakdowns on site & at satellites.
4. Build your understanding of the process to aid troubleshooting, identify appropriate isolations and conduct start-up & shut-down processes.
5. Supervise on-site contractors in accordance with contractor management procedures.
6. Act as on-site customer liaison & communications for satellite plants when required.
7. Ensure all work is within compliance to external standards ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO45001, GMP/GDP, ISO/FSSC22000.
8. Mentor apprentices and new supervisors and provide on-the-job training.
9. Work as part of the operating team alongside the Operating Service Centre to ensure safe, efficient and reliable execution of all aspects of plant operation.
10. Participate in the on-call rota to address issues out of hours.
11. Carry out risk assessments, review documentation and actively engage in continuous improvement.
Your Profile:
1. Minimum Level 3 external qualification in electrical engineering with completion of a recognised apprenticeship or proven skills in this area (Level 4/5 Engineering qualification preferred).
2. Experience as an electrical technician performing preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting low voltage electrical equipment (Experience of HV and Atex preferred).
3. The ability to work safely and independently.
4. Valid driver’s licence.
5. Knowledge of the process and equipment operations would be preferred; however, an ability to learn the process is needed.
6. Strong communication skills across cross-functional teams.
7. Experience of using IT systems (e.g. Word, Excel, SAP, Power Apps, Sharepoint).
