Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and innovative Business Intelligence (BI) Lead to take ownership of designing, developing, and continuously enhancing our Business Intelligence solutions. This role will focus on a three-phase transformation:
1. Modernizing the Current BI Solution: Migrating to a cloud-based data warehouse to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data accessibility.
2. Building Advanced Data and BI Reporting Solutions: Developing comprehensive, user-friendly dashboards and reports that meet business needs.
3. Integrating AI into BI Solutions: Leveraging platform-ready AI models and/or developing bespoke machine learning (ML) solutions to elevate our data analysis and decision-making capabilities.
This role will work closely with the Finance Director, as well as the IT & Development and project teams, as part of the organisation’s digital transformation programme. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in crafting AI-powered BI solutions while also delivering actionable, data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and the company’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. MI, Data Analysis & Reporting
1. Develop and maintain management information (MI) reporting and dashboards.
2. Analyse large, complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights using both traditional BI tools and AI techniques.
3. Perform ad-hoc data analysis to support decision-making.
4. Provide insights and recommendations to inform strategy and improve business processes.
2. Business Intelligence Solution Development
1. Lead the design and development of cloud-based BI solutions to enhance data analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
2. Collaborate with business leaders to understand requirements and deliver BI solutions.
3. Explore and implement AI technologies, including predictive analytics, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning (ML) models, to enhance BI functionality.
3. Data Integration & Management
1. Work with the IT and Development team to integrate diverse data sources into the BI solution, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
2. Collaborate with the Finance Director to establish a robust data dictionary and a cloud-based data warehouse, ensuring a single version of the truth.
3. Stay current with AI and BI trends and technologies to continuously improve solutions.
4. Proactively suggest enhancements to improve functionality and user experience.
Experience we are looking for
1. 3+ years of experience in MI, BI, or Data & Analytics roles, driving change through meaningful insights.
2. Expertise with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView for developing intuitive dashboards.
3. Hands-on experience with SQL and ETL processes; familiarity with other data manipulation languages is a plus.
4. Experience (or a keen interest) in AI tools and platforms, such as Snowflake.
5. Demonstrated success in implementing data architecture frameworks, data management, and integration of cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
6. Background in financial services, particularly insurance, is advantageous.
7. Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
