If so, an exciting and unique opportunity is now live with a leading IVD company in Yorkshire, looking to expand their operations and onboard staff within an analytical department. As an Analytical Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting validation and sample analysis projects focused on In-Vitro Diagnostic immunoassays to aid in producing high-quality IVD products to market. This will involve, monitoring equipment and stock, validation and calibration of equipment, and performing analytical studies. Responsibilities: Validation and calibration of lab equipment, as well as maintenance. Preparation of laboratory reagents and stock solutions. General upkeep and maintenance of lab areas and standards within the lab. Recording and presenting data to senior team members, all within GDP and GLP requirements. Monitor and maintain test equipment and stock levels. Perform analytical performance studies using a variety of analytical techniques in accordance with documented procedures, including: Analytical Sensitivity (LOD) Analytical Specificity (Interference & Cross Reactivity) Precision Matrix Equivalence Measuring Range (Hook Effect) Flex & Robustness Stability (Shelf Life, Shipping & In Use) Understanding all principal responsibilities and risks in relation to the job and work standards. Trained and adheres to health and safety instructions. Reports any hazards, risks and failings in procedures to ensure compliance and a safe working environment. Consistent in working to quality standards to deliver products and services, which meet regulatory and customer requirements. Understanding of responsibilities that comply with ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 QMS and processes. As well as regulatory requirements. About you: Relevant Degree in a Biological science or equivalent relevant experience. Experience in a lab setting either in industry or from studies. Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and effective communication skills in both written and verbal capacities. Experience in working with immunoassays, such as ELISA. Desirable experience in working with an IVD environment or with lateral flow. Ability to work effectively in a team setting, and to own initiative with the ability to learn new tasks.
