Are you looking for a unique and exciting educational adventure working in a brand-new Sixth Form that’s part of a University?
University College Birmingham opened its new Sixth Form Centre in September 2024 to 280 year 12 students and we are looking for a knowledgeable and ambitious teacher to set up our Economics A-level. We anticipate one or two small groups in our first year, growing as the Sixth Form Centre grows.
Teaching within a university environment and our £5.5 million Sixth Form Centre facilities will provide you with a truly unique opportunity to rethink education; to create a knowledge-rich curriculum which transforms academic learning through exemplary pedagogy and research-informed practice.
We strive for the best academic outcomes for our students while explicitly teaching character education, empowering students to live purposeful, flourishing lives.
Preparing for university means our students (and teachers) will benefit from extensive support services at UCB, including a library with online access to over 60 million digital resources, a dedicated academic support service, a health and wellbeing service with mental health support, and a dedicated careers team.
We recognise that you will be our greatest asset and we will fully support you to excel in your craft; our professional development programme includes instructional coaching and opportunities for further qualifications.
This role is permanent, part-time (0.5FTE, 22.5 Hours per week) or could be a full-time role when combined with another subject vacancy.
