Role Overview The Electrical Quantity Surveyor will oversee the financial management of commercial CAT A and CAT B office fit-out projects. This role involves ensuring project costs are controlled efficiently while delivering high-quality electrical systems in line with client expectations. The position requires expertise in cost estimation, contract negotiation, and project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for electrical works specific to CAT A and CAT B office fit-outs.
- Conduct detailed measurement and valuation of electrical installations as per project requirements.
- Negotiate contracts, variations, and pricing with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Manage project cash flows, valuations, and ensure timely invoicing.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, correspondence, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure compliance with financial and contractual obligations.
- Provide regular reports on project performance, risks, and profitability.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards during project execution.
- Assist in resolving disputes or contractual issues efficiently.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on electrical works for commercial office fit-outs.
- Strong understanding of CAT A and CAT B specifications and requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of cost management and contract law principles.
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as CostX, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Desirable Attributes
- Familiarity with the latest trends and standards in office fit-out projects.
- Membership in RICS or a similar professional body.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
