The post holder will be an integral part of the Intrapartum ward and Joan Booker ward, co-ordinating the services provided by the Estates team.
The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of services provided by the Estates and Facilities Division in the ward area ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
The main elements in this area of the role are to ensure the delivery and co-ordination, in accordance with the Trust's policy and ward requirements, of the following services:
* Stock Monitoring and Ordering
* Domestics and Linen
* Maintenance
Main duties of the job
Monitor levels of stock and non-stock supplies.
Order stock and non-stock supplies on Oracle ensuring ordering is done allowing for delivery, track daily stock activity.
Liaise with identified Ward Manager regarding changes or new supplies/suppliers.
Keep accurate records of orders and tracking for 2 years.
Unpack and store supplies, ensuring stock areas are kept tidy and in order.
Ensure adequate supplies of "Top Up" items at all times e.g. Pathology and stores.
Deal with supply enquiries/liaise with supplies dept especially EBME.
Maintain accurate asset Register of medical devices.
Ensure medical devices are serviced and maintained accordingly on an account basis.
Be a point of contact for company reps and medical device agents.

Job responsibilities
Monitor levels of stock and non-stock supplies.

Maintain a good link with the EBME department to ensure smooth and efficient returned/repair of suitable devices using current reporting tools i.e. Novade.
Have a full knowledge and understanding of levels of service agreed with the contractors, how to access, monitor and review them.
Maintain good link with procurement to ensure resources are used efficiently.
Be point of contact for all medical devices on the unit.
Maintain accurate asset Register of medical devices.
Ensure medical devices are serviced and maintained accordingly on an account basis.
Be a point of contact for company reps and medical device agents.
Maintain a good link with the EBME department in order to ensure smooth and efficient returned/repair of suitable devices.
To cover when needed the Maternity Ward administrator on Labour ward and Joan Booker if needed, this includes using Millenium and being able to admit and discharge patients and be able to book appointments for the patients, answer the telephone and security entry door.
To meet and greet contractors completing work within the ward area, ensuring they have the relevant clearance and ID.
Be able to process requests through Millenium i.e. porter and deep cleaning of rooms.
Service improvement
* To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards on the Labour ward and Joan Booker ward within infection controls policies.
* Oversee and check the cleanliness of the ward area. Inform the Team Leader of any problems.
* Liaise with the designated Housekeeper.
* Assist with bedmaking, ward tidying when necessary.
* Cleaning of equipment after use, as per Trust cleaning policy and auditing this.
* To carry out spot checks on cleaning of equipment and patient area and ensure periodic cleaning e.g. high dusting, deep cleaning is performed.
* Check the daily linen top up for quality and quantity, notify the Linen Room of any problem. Keep Linen Room tidy.
* Ensure the ward is always safe and tidy e.g. removal of any old information and clutter.
* To ensure the cleaning program for equipment is carried out.
* Monitor and document daily the fridge temperature.
* To ensure spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
Have a full knowledge and understanding of services offered by the Estates Department and how to access them.
* Monitor and co-ordinate other ad-hoc maintenance liaising with Facilities e.g. Pest Control issues.
* Keep a record of any requisitions, job completion and outcome, liaising with the ward co-ordinator.
* Carry out monthly checks of all beds and mattresses. Record and report to the ward manager if any problems.
Act as a point of contact on the ward for reporting Estates issues.
Communications and Engagement
Daily communications with Ward Manager, ward team, patients.
Regular communications with Estates, Facilities departments, Domestic department and Monitoring Officer.
Build good relationships with the Trust procurement and buying team.
Keep a record of any requisitions, job completion and outcome, assist with auditing - liaising with the ward co-ordinator.
Organise and maintain patients property that is stored on the ward or that is left behind.
General responsibilities
To support the department and organisation by carrying out any other duties that reasonably fit within the broad scope of a job of this grade and type of work.
