The nursery is nestled in the heart of our family-run farm, which enables the children to interact with farm animals and take part in additional educational outdoor activities in our forest school area. We thrive in giving our children a natural environment to learn and grow, and believe this makes the nursery truly unique, with our children being surrounded by animals and the picturesque countryside of Shropshire This, paired with simulating playrooms and outdoor play areas, has enabled us to create a secure, diverse and educational environment which allows our children to develop, flourish and achieve their full potential – a goal which is at the heart of our nursery. The nursery accommodates children of all ages between 3 months to 4 years and is Ofsted registered for up to 72 places. Our opening times are Monday to Friday 7:30am to 6pm (excluding statutory bank holidays and the week over Christmas). The Role We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to lead our dedicated team The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, possess strong leadership skills, and have a love for children (and the outdoors). They will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the nursery, working to lead our friendly team, with a view to inspiring them to be beyond fabulous and to create a supportive, stimulating and safe learning environment for the children in our care. Some key responsibilities will include: Leadership & Management: provide professional leadership and management to motivate and guide our team to achieve and maintain an excellent standard of care and education, with children’s welfare at their upmost priority. Curriculum development: develop and implement enriching learning experiences for all children through creation of distinctive and captivating activities. You will be expected to keep abreast of current early childhood thinking and trends to help with this. Communication: effectively communicate with staff, parents, children and other stakeholders to build strong and collaborative relationships. Compliance & safety: ensure the nursery is compliant and up to date with all rules and regulations, including health and safety, safeguarding and Ofsted standards. Nursery standards: ensure all policies, procedures are always implemented and adhered to. Operational management: manage aspects including staffing, budgeting and resources, as well as leading the team through providing day-to-day guidance. Professional development: support our team with their ongoing training and development, ensuring every member is given the opportunity to excel in their roles. Child welfare & safeguarding: act as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the nursery, holding overall responsibility for Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and referrals. Requirements The successful candidate will meet the following requirement's: Qualifications: Minimum level 3 in early years qualification. A suitable level 2 qualification in maths or must do so within two years of starting in the position (EYFS 2024 3.37). Experience: At least 1-year managerial recent experience of working in an early years setting. Experience of coaching and mentoring individuals. Experience of leadership. SENCO experience. Knowledge: Knowledge of OFSTED requirements. Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the EYFS framework. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safeguarding & welfare requirements. Skills: Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work towards and meet targets and deadlines. Excellent problem-solving skills should any issues arise.
