Our UK Infrastructure business focuses on 5 key markets in the UK and globally. Our Water market within Infrastructure is a rapidly growing part of the business, on track to achieve record turnover this financial year. The market is spread across most of the UK Water Companies, as well as working with international clients.
Location: UK, London & South-East.
Key Accountabilities:
1. The Assistant Finance Business Partner (FBP) will be a key member of the Water market Leadership Team, supporting the markets FBP & Senior FBP and providing evidence-based insights to the business leadership in pursuit of performance goals.
2. Month-end results planning, review and reporting on management accounts.
3. Regular review of project forecasts and liaising with project managers to ensure detailed understanding of individual projects’ financial performance.
4. Delivery of a performance appraisal model focused on sales and risk management of projects.
5. Supporting in the preparation of operational budgets and quarterly forecasts.
6. Helping with the management of cash-flow; monitoring performance and providing support to the business, as well as discussions with the central teams regarding billing and debt collection.
7. Assisting with pricing and bid support to project managers and directors for opportunities, including review of bid models and preparation of project/framework rates.
8. Liaison with group functions as appropriate on tax, treasury, commercial, cosec and accounting issues.
9. Overhead control relating to the market.
10. Ad hoc tasks and support to the Water Senior FBP and wider Infrastructure finance team.
11. Ownership of periodic financial reporting requests and internal process returns, for the infrastructure division and divisional Finance Director.
12. Involvement with wider AtkinsRéalis financial improvement initiatives and transformational changes.
Professional & Technical skills:
1. A good understanding of preparing and reviewing management accounts.
2. Enthusiastic to learn about and appreciate, the financial requirements and processes within a large engineering consultancy market.
3. Great people management and inter-personal skills; and comfortable in dealing with senior colleagues.
4. Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills and exposure to Power BI.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise own workload. Strong sense of ownership, drive and ability to deliver results.
6. Great attention to detail.
7. Good team player with positive attitude.
8. Strong planning and problem-solving skills with an ability to analyse information and processes.
9. Knowledge and experience of the following would be an advantage: Oracle Hyperion Financial Management system.
10. Experience of working in an accounting function, especially an engineering consultancy, would be a significant advantage.
11. This role would be suitable for an individual that has recently graduated with a relevant accounting degree or qualified to a similar level through working experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree – Preferably in Accounting/Finance/Business related field of study.
2. Part qualified and/or an interest in obtaining an accounting qualification – ACCA/CA/CIMA.
