Job Summary
To ensure highway inspections are carried out within the timeframe as defined in the Code of Practice, enforcing, where required, the Highway Act and environmental issues that relate to the highway. Ensure the integrity of the highway boundary and respond effectively.
Responsibilities
1. To support the performance management of services and teams through contributing to the departmental business planning process as required.
2. Responsible for protecting and managing information securely.
3. Deal with customer enquiries and enforcement issues which are problematic and need specific attention.
4. Keeping records to track enquiries and complaints.
5. Record all condition surveys through Confirm, ensuring accurate detail is recorded about traffic management.
6. Provide support and advice regarding the Highways Act and Environmental Protection Act.
Requirements
1. Highways Inspector accreditation or equivalent (Desirable)
2. NRSWA Act 1990 Supervisor (Desirable)
3. Traffic Management Qualification (12D T7), (Desirable)
4. Experience of working within highways maintenance, such as: Highway Inspection Regimes and highway related legislations.
Hours & Pay
1. Monday to Friday (possibility of some weekend work).
2. Starting at £16.11 P/H
3. Weekly Pay
Special Factors
1. The nature of the work may involve the jobholder carrying out work outside of normal working hours.
2. The nature of the work will involve the jobholder carrying out work at different locations than their designated base.
3. The post holder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service.
4. Expenses will be paid in accordance with the Local Conditions of Service.
