Axcis are recruiting an experienced social emotional and mental health teaching assistant to join a fantastic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in White City and Greenford. This role involves supporting students aged 13-18 with SEMH needs, helping to keep them engaged and providing classroom support to ensure they remain on task and make progress. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a challenging environment, where patience, resilience, and strong behaviour management skills are essential.
Role Details:
1. Support students with SEMH needs, helping them stay focused and engaged in lessons.
2. Provide 1:1 and group support to students, ensuring they receive the help they need to progress academically and emotionally.
3. Assist teaching staff in delivering lessons and managing behaviour in the classroom.
4. Help students develop coping mechanisms and encourage positive behaviour through tailored interventions.
Requirements:
1. Enhanced DBS (on the update service).
2. Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a PRU or similar setting.
3. Ability to manage challenging behaviour and foster a supportive, encouraging environment.
4. Kind, patient, and proactive approach with strong communication skills.
5. Full-time availability, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
