The post is based offshore on the Anasuria Platform on a 2/3 rotation.
JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s Life Saving Rules.
2. ‘Live’ our Petrofac Values and apply them in day-to-day work.
3. Accountable to the Shift Supervisor for the safe operation of process and associated utilities systems.
4. The safe monitoring and operation of wells, process plant, utility systems and equipment in designated area of responsibility.
5. Effective monitoring and response to process alarms/trips, F&G and ESD systems.
6. Safe isolation and reinstatement of plant and equipment for maintenance.
7. Control of work and activities in your area of responsibility including auditing.
8. Emergency Response duties as detailed for position.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
1. To be familiar with and have an understanding of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
2. Ability to deploy engineering & operational standards / procedures that meet both regulatory and safety standards.
3. Ability to identify, investigate, audit and control technical change (within limit of discipline knowledge).
4. Ability to undertake work to meet acceptance criteria with respect to safety, technical integrity.
5. Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
6. Requirement to raise any non-conformance to supervisor in timely fashion.
7. Awareness of project activities.
8. Input into project / asset plans in timely fashion if required.
9. Ability to provide guidance and motivation to co-workers.
10. Educated to ONC Standard or equivalent in craft, process or technical qualification.
11. Process qualification NVQ 3 or equivalent standard.
12. Previous experience as a Control Room Operator on an offshore installation, or FPSO would be beneficial.
13. Ideally candidates would have an NVQ Level 3 in Hydrocarbon Processing (or equivalent qualification) and be able to demonstrate competence in this area.
14. Emergency Response competence with valid certification.
15. Good communication skills and a proactive approach to Safe Working Practices.
16. Good PC literacy.
17. Ideally experience working as a Control Room Operator/Operations Technician on an offshore installation, FPSO. Alternatively in gas processing, chemical or petro-chemical industries.
18. Experience with Marine Systems would be beneficial but not essential.
19. Experience with Maximo would also be beneficial.
