About the role:
As a Training and Development Manager, you will drive the growth and development of our financial planners by delivering exceptional sales coaching and implementing outstanding Lifestyle Financial Planning practices. You will provide mentorship and guidance, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Working closely with senior management, you will align training initiatives with business objectives to ensure the delivery of high-quality financial planning services to our clients.
Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering a robust Financial Planner induction program that offers an end-to-end view of the client journey and company processes, supporting Lifestyle Financial Planning. You will also develop and maintain relevant content on our Learning Management System (LMS) and offer one-on-one coaching sessions to support the professional development and career growth of our financial planners.
In this role, you will provide constructive feedback on performance, serve as a mentor and role model, and align training initiatives with our business priorities and strategic goals. You will be responsible for providing regular updates on the effectiveness of training programs, staying current with industry developments, and sharing insights to ensure our financial planners are well-informed and equipped to serve clients effectively.
About you:
Your strong organisational and time management skills enable you to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. You are confident in your ability to coach and train both in person and remotely using video conferencing technology, and you have a proven track record of delivering impactful training and development programs.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow you to engage and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including Financial Planners, Regional Directors, and other key business partners. You are adept at building relationships that facilitate open communication and the sharing of ideas and issues. You maintain a thorough knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring that your training content is always up-to-date and compliant.
Your analytical skills and attention to detail enable you to prepare and present detailed reports, providing key insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement. Your leadership and mentoring skills are demonstrated through your ability to provide ongoing coaching in both group and one-on-one settings, discussing tips, strategies, and best practices. You work collaboratively with other stakeholders to ensure consistency in training approaches and contribute to the creation of comprehensive training and development content that suits all staff positions and experience levels.
Key Responsibilities & Outputs include:
* Design, deliver and implement a robust Financial Planner induction to provide an end to end view of the client journey & company process in a way that supports Lifestyle Financial Planning.
* Design, deliver, implement & maintain relevant content via Attivo LMS.
* Offer one-on-one coaching sessions to financial planners to support their professional development and career growth.
* Provide constructive feedback on financial planners' performance and help them identify areas for improvement, recording actions and following up as needed.
* Serve as a mentor and role model, demonstrating best practices in financial planning and client management.
* Align training initiatives with business priorities and strategic initiatives to support the overall growth and success of the organisation.
* Provide regular updates and reports on the effectiveness of training programs and the performance of financial planners.
* Stay up-to-date with developments in the financial services industry, including changes in regulations, products, and technologies.
* Share industry insights and best practices with financial planners to ensure they are well-informed and equipped to serve clients effectively.
* Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in financial planning processes and practices.
* Undertake comprehensive “soft skill” observations on Financial Planners throughout Attivo.
* Support the delivery of group training sessions to foster skills development and promote best practices.
* Engage with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of coaching and training to Financial Planners.
* Act as an Ambassador internally for Attivo, Lifestyle Financial Planning and our company behaviours.
* Building strong working relationships with Financial Planners, ensuring engagement with feedback.
* Engage and encourage the use of Vouched For and design messaging/content based on trends emerging.
Essential skills and experience
* Minimum level 4 qualification in Regulated Financial Planning (CII preferred).
* Experience in financial services, particularly in a training and competency, supervision or financial planning role.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to engage and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
* Confident coaching and training skills, in person on an individual basis, in groups and remotely using video conferencing technology.
* Able to act as a role model for good conduct and unwavering focus on delivering Lifestyle Financial Planning.
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to financial planning and wealth management.
* Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve their full potential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with financial planners and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Desirable skills and experience
* Level 3 training qualification and/or supervisory qualification (e.g. AF6 or J07)
* Experience of using Intelliflo
* Pension transfer specialist supervision experience
Salary and benefits
up to £50,000 depending on experience (negotiable), plus car allowance of £6,000 per annum.
