Climb Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading, South Yorkshire based Engineering and Manufacturing business who, due to a period of continued growth, are looking to recruit a talented Production Manager to join their growing team.
Role Profile
The Production Manager will form part of the operational leadership team and will report directly to the Operations Director.
You will have full responsibility for the development and management of the Sawing, Machining and Inspection teams.
You will be an excellent people manager capable of developing, mentoring, and coaching staff to ensure they have the skills and motivation to perform all duties to the highest of standards whilst maintaining KPI's.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to connect across departments.
You will lead operational excellence to ensure the manufacturing team exceeds all key targets of output, yield, quality, HSE and housekeeping.
You will be an advocate of continuous improvement methodologies throughout all aspects of the production team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
General
* Management and development of the Sawing, Machining and Inspection teams.
* Responsible for Visual Management Board effectiveness, adherence to metrics and continual review of relevance.
* Provide and analyse key performance indicators such as (but not limited to) TEEP, OOE and OTIF and use them to drive improvement.
Safety
* Ensure that all personnel comply with the company’s health and safety policy.
* Promote and develop a safe work environment.
* Drive 7s housekeeping standards.
Quality
* Work jointly with the quality team to minimise non-conformances and maximise quality control on production parts.
* Implement an analytical approach to problem solving and ensure continual improvement of systems and processes in your area of responsibility.
* Achieve high levels of data collection accuracy to ensure meaningful bookings into our ERP system.
Delivery
* Input to the development and execution of the production plan. Providing feedback to stakeholders on Jobs in progress.
* Monitoring estimated process times vs. actual process times and providing feedback on variances to the Planning function.
Cost
* Analyse machine utilisation and drive advancements in both manned and unmanned running.
* Drive improvement in OEE performance in line with Company objectives.
* Ensure adherence to operational budgets and control spending at a local level daily.
People
* Assist with the onboarding process of new team members ensuring that competence is developed and maintained.
* Conduct regular reviews of staff performance in line with company appraisal procedure.
* Review team attendance and performance. Manage in line with company procedure.
* Manage the effective performance of your staff by providing on-going coaching, cross training and upskilling.
* Ensure that resource levels are maintained at the agreed level.
Working Hours & Package
* Mon – Friday 8am to 4pm (1-hour lunch) – However, Flexibility at this level is a necessity.
