We are looking to recruit an Assistant Psychologist (0.6 FTE) to join our team working within the Lambeth drug and alcohol team.
We are a specialist NHS addictions service run by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), as lead provider in partnership with non-statutory organisations. We provides trauma informed community substance use disorders treatment for the residents of Lambeth.
Job Purpose:
· Toassistpractitioner psychologists in the delivery ofpsychological interventions in a community drug and alcohol service.
· To provide clinical work(individual and group)under the clinical and professional supervision of a practitioner psychologist.
· Toassistin research and clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects,teachingand project work.
· To work atappropriate levelsof independence, following clinical guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, and seeking help from clinical/professional supervisor or manager asrequired

We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatientand community services. Currently we provide inpatient care for approximately 5,300 people each year and treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Croydon, Lambeth,Lewishamand Southwark; as well as substance misuse services for residents of Bexley,Bromleyand Greenwich.

Key Responsibilities:
KR 1Clinical and Client Care
• Tocarry out psychological assessments for clients under the supervision of practitioner psychologistswho are engaging with a community drug and alcohol service.
• To provide individual psychological interventions for clients based on a psychological formulation and using evidenced based addictions psychosocial interventions.
• Toorganise andfacilitategroup psychological interventions for clients, including the management of waiting lists and development of group materials whereappropriate.
• Toassisttheteam inthe development of individual or group clinical materials or training materials, and in addition to develop such materials independently as falls within own degree of competence.
KR 2Contributing to team or service clinical functioning
• To contribute to the effective working of the teamand to a psychologically informed framework for the service.
• To support the team or service’s delivery of accessible and acceptable services to diverse local communities.
KR 3Policy and service development
• To implement policies and procedures in own area of work, and tocomment on proposedimprovements or beneficial changes.
• To contribute to service development through undertaking andparticipatinginappropriate projects.
• To contribute to the consultation and engagement of service users in planning and delivering services which meet the needs of local communities.
