We are looking to hire an Investor Relations Associate or Manager who will play a part in managing relationships with Starling’s investor base, cultivating their understanding of the firm’s financial performance and business plan on an ongoing basis. Your work will be instrumental in building conviction among the wider investor and analyst community in Starling’s vision and strategy for growth as the group approaches an initial public offering.This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into the inner workings of one of the UK’s top fintechs. You will work closely with the Group CFO and collaborate across multiple functions within the group including the Group CFO’s Office, Strategy, Corporate Affairs, FP&A and Financial Modelling, Treasury and Legal teams.Key responsibilities:You will be responsible for day-to-day management of investor communications and production of investor materials. You will help to deliver an investor relations strategy that prioritises clear and effective communication of the Starling Group’s performance and equity story across both Starling Bank and Engine by Starling, developing investor confidence and belief in the company’s vision and its strategy for delivering shareholder value. In particular, you will: Support the Group CFO in day-to-day communications with existing and prospective investors and sell-side analysts Provide investors and analysts with relevant and accurate information to support their technical understanding of the Starling Group’s business model and financial performance Conduct analysis to assess shareholder impact of corporate actions Support the Strategy team with preparation of compelling equity story materials including teasers and information memorandums to support private fundraises Coordinate investor meetings and events and prepare supporting materials Prepare briefing materials for the Group CEO and Group CFO ahead of earnings calls and meeting with investors Manage investor communications and track feedback during primary issuance and secondary transactions Support senior management, appointed advisors and underwriters to execute a successful IPO or other capital event Work closely with the Corporate Affairs team to manage public perception of the group, develop consistent narratives surrounding Starling’s long-term growth strategy, business model and financial performance, and support with public facing communications and disclosures. Support on meeting environmental reporting requirements and the group’s wider ESG strategy Develop and maintain the Group’s investor information webpage Monitor analyst coverage and key valuation assumptions and outputs Document and maintain frameworks and policies relating to IR Requirements Bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 or above, or equivalent You might be working towards a Chartered Accountancy qualification (ACA/CA etc.) or CFA 3+ years relevant experience, preferably including FIG experience at a leading investment bank or consultancy firm, or an IR role at a financial institution or fintech business Direct public markets or IPO experience is a plus Track record of maintaining strong relationships with the equity research analyst and investor community Clear and engaging communication and interpersonal skills Strong written and visual presentation skills, producing pitch/presentation materials of a high professional standard Desire to work in an open, flat, collaborative and fast paced environment Strong financial acumen and accounting knowledge with a robust understanding of bank financials and key metrics Corporate finance skills with ability to interpret complex financial models and valuation analysis Good technical understanding of fintech/banking business models and industry trends Understanding of UK bank and tech valuation methodologies used by analysts and industry valuation metrics Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the capital markets Comprehension of the FCA listing rules and disclosure requirements We are open to receiving applications for both Associate and Manager level positions and as such the job title may change to reflect this.
