AWE is currently recruiting for an Assistant Contract Manager to join our growing team, to support data analysis, reporting and contract management.
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £36,000 to £50,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Let us introduce the role
The Assistant Contract Manager will support the Contract Manager in the delivery of post contract management of critical contracts with the supply chain, helping drive value for money and mitigating commercial risk. Deliver effective administration of assigned contracts by maintaining high standards of compliance against customer, regulatory and legislative requirements. Support operational management within AWE's Commercial Management Arrangements and deliver effective administration. Support the development and implementation of AWE FMC Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategy and framework.
Working with the Contract Manager to understand the detailed business requirements of stakeholders by maintaining effective stakeholder communications and engagement. Other duties include:
1. Ensure all administration of the contract is managed efficiently, effectively and timely.
2. Support the team, by ensuring the mailbox is managed efficiently, effectively, and timely.
3. Support the team in the production of commercial reports, through collating data from multiple sources and sharing in a defined format.
4. Ensuring contracts have a robust live Contract Management Plan with defined procedure for delivery performance management, invoice applications, risk management and contract reviews.
5. Support the commercial alignment of scope with service contract provisions.
6. Ensure contract change is managed efficiently, effectively, and timely.
7. Support the Contract Manager to ensure contracts maximise value for money by identifying service improvements as and where possible.
Who are we looking for?
Previous experience with contract management, and strong administrative and data skills. Ideally an individual with working knowledge of industry standard contract forms such as NEC, together with CCS. The use of contract management tools such as CEMAR is not essential as training will be provided.
Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:
1. Strong administrative and data skills (Excel, Powerpoint etc).
2. Understanding of public procurement contract regulations.
3. Experience in Government or in a regulated business.
4. Stakeholder management skills.
5. Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), currently training or willing to train to achieve CIPS.

Important things you need to know:
You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance.
Remote working is available. Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 1 day onsite per week in our London office.
