As a professional and confident Human Resources Business Partner working within the Acorn team you will be accountable for providing human resources support to different businesses, across a wide range of industries, covering compliance, employee engagement and training, with a focus on supporting business owners, senior leadership teams and HR professionals and employees to be first class.
Responsibilities
* Provide proactive expert advice and support to clients on a full range of human resources areas subjects, in accordance with current employment law and in line with the culture of each client organisation.
* Provide expert support and guidance in management of absence, disciplinary and grievance matters. This may include providing verbal and written guidance; chairing or supporting in client meetings with employees and producing any required supporting documentation. Through detailed investigative skills, you will identify the root cause of issues, risk analysis and recommendations for the development within the organisation.
* Develop, review and implement necessary human resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current employment law.
* Identify changes in employment legislation and provide timely and expert advice to clients regarding the implementation of the changes.
* Develop HR strategies and practices within our client organisations to contribute to their business objectives, including workforce planning, organisational reviews and talent management.
* Provide expert advice and support in managing TUPE and Redundancy situations, ensuring the appropriate process is followed in a timely manner to meet the organisations needs.
* Develop and implement annual appraisals and performance related pay within client organisations, including providing practical guidance on proactive people engagement and improvement techniques.
* Identify organisational development and learning needs in client organisations. Utilising current training models and developing engaging and interactive workshops.
* Delivery of professional training courses and practical workshops. These may be on-site with clients, public workshops or online delivery.
* In partnership with our clients, undertake human resource development projects and activities that contribute to building a positive organisational environment.
* To undertake other such duties, commensurate with the responsibilities of the post and in support of our team and that of our clients.

Qualifications
* CIPD qualified with 5 years experience in managing all aspects of the Human Resources function.
* Relevant professional experience to include employee relations and managing complex absence, disciplinary and grievance cases.
* Proven high level communication skills (verbal and written), including both in person and online, including providing human resources advice on issues of a complex and sensitive nature.
* Confidence to attend Client sites on your own as a representative of the Acorn Support team in order to support the client with management of their team and business.
* The ability to think on your feet to support and guide the client with the appropriate action plan as required by their needs. Positively and constructively challenging whenever appropriate to achieve excellence in HR standards.
* Confidence in facilitating, coaching, training, mentoring and presenting – knowing the difference and appropriateness of these methodologies in different circumstances. Having proven experience and confidence in all the approaches.
* Proven ability to liaise effectively and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, to facilitate their cooperation and support to achieve desired outcomes and to establish and maintain strong and productive working relationships.
* Experience in the development, review and implementation of a range of human resources related policies, practices and procedures.
* Evidence of the commitment to be ahead of changes in HR legislation and good practice, with strong evidence of CPD activity.
* Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organise work to achieve goals and meet deadlines, including dealing with competing demands and managing multiple projects and tasks.
* Experience in formulating human resource development strategies and participating in organisational training needs analysis.
* Ability to identify strategic HR related issues, think laterally and apply analytical, qualitative and research skills to develop appropriate creative strategies for resolution.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and to act on own initiative.
* Ability to work with a high attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
* Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve the goals of the organisation.
* Flexible, reliable and a ‘can do and will do’ approach to be able to support colleagues and work as a positive team member.
* To contribute to, and actively promote, the philosophy, values and aims of Acorn Support.
* Possess a full, valid driving licence and have access to own transport for client visits.
