Job Purpose Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Trainer is responsible for delivering on-the-job training to upskill operatives, supporting new starter inductions, maintaining training records, and reporting competency signoffs to HR. They also step in on production lines when needed to ensure smooth operations. The Production Trainer plays a vital role in developing the skills of production operatives within the food manufacturing environment. They are responsible for delivering on-the-job training to help operatives progress to skilled operative roles, as well as supporting new starters through a structured induction process. The role also requires the ability to step in and work on the production lines when necessary to ensure smooth operations and to lead by example. Duties include: • Act as role model and ambassador towards our Company values • Deliver on-the-job training to production operatives, ensuring they gain the necessary skills to progress to skilled operative roles. • Support the induction of new employees by providing practical training and guidance on processes, procedures, and health & safety. • Assess trainee progress and provide feedback to both employees and the Production Manager. • Maintain and complete training sign-off records for competencies to ensure compliance with company and industry standards. • Report training completion numbers and competency signoffs to HR on a regular basis. • Work closely with team leaders and supervisors to identify training needs and develop tailored training plans. • Ensure full compliance with, and high standards of, food safety, quality, and hygiene during all training activities. • Step in to work on production lines when required to support operational needs. • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development within the production team. Skills include: • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment. • Strong knowledge of production processes and food safety regulations. Food Safety Level 3 (minimum) • Excellent communication and coaching skills. • Ability to engage and motivate employees in a training environment. • Organised and able to manage training records effectively. • High levels of attention to detail. • Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting training progress to HR. Train the trainer qualification or equivalent • Willingness to work flexibly, including stepping into production roles as needed.
