Main duties of the job

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Communication: Demonstrate politeness, courtesy and sensitivity in dealing with patients, relatives and visitors, maintain good customer relations.
* Carry out assigned clerical tasks as directed by the supervisor.
* Report untoward incidents and any other relevant information to the supervisor immediately.
* Participate fully as a team member, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues.
* Patient/customer care (both direct and indirect): Provide excellent standards of patient care, observations, preparing equipment and patients for treatment.
* Carry out daily checks on appropriate equipment.
* Assist in the restocking and ordering of supplies.
* To work together with the Imaging teams to ensure effective use of resources.
* To abide by the Trust’s core behaviors for staff and all other Trust policies.
* Participate in the Trust’s appraisal and personal development plan /any necessary training as required.
* Use relevant IT systems in the support of patient care.
Person specification
Experience
* Experience in relevant medical/science field, NVQ or equivalent.
Education and Qualifications
* General education to A-level standard or equivalent.
* Knowledge of Imaging Department.
Skills
* Ability to demonstrate good working relationships with people at all levels within a multidisciplinary team.
* To be able to cope with occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances.
* Ability to manage oneself in a rapidly changing and pressured environment.
