About the job: To support the promotion of the Club’s brands as Champions of the Great Outdoors through managing and arranging engaging events that align to both brand audiences and maximise opportunities for member/customer value, retention and acquisition and revenue growth. To support the management of the Club’s Events including Pop-up campsite capability, experiential events and ClubFest, amongst others, and provide support in managing resources and Club assets as appropriate. Specifically to provide Event production support through third party vendors, sponsors, people assets, build and budget provision. Work with internal teams on H&S and contracts, ensuring that best practice is always at the forefront of delivery. Lead on sustainability issues as they relate to Events and Exhibitions. To act as production expert and focal point for events and B2B capabilities.
Key Tasks/Accountabilities:
* Take the Production lead in the delivery of projects, campaigns and events. Producing and managing event work schedules and timelines to ensure that resources (internal and external) and assets are aligned across events and are not compromised, for the Club or members and non-members.
* Produce and manage Event Safety Plans and Assessments, working with relevant Safety Advisory Groups (SAGs) and internal Health & Safety manager. Managing H&S requirements including assessing work activities, creation of documentation/plans and on-site implementation.
* Work with clients and stakeholders to ensure plans and venue assessments are provided that meet the requirements of all parties - the Club, Partners and Sponsors. Assess and develop relationships with Club partners to provide innovative and exciting activities aligned to events, including sponsorship opportunities.
* Manage project budgets ensuring best value pricing, negotiations with suppliers and making contractor selection. Liaise with venues and site service representatives through appropriate site visits and regular online meetings. Ensure projects are delivered (development, build and running on-site) on budget and on-time to the highest possible standards. Provide appropriate post-event feedback to all stakeholders.
* Develop and manage the Booking System for events and campsites. Create revenue and cost budgets to support the profitable delivery of campsites and events.
* Act as the lead for sustainability as it relates to Events and Exhibitions. This is an increasing and important area of development across the industry and the Club needs to ensure that it complies with the Club’s and Event organisers requirements.
* Research and develop new opportunities for both Pop-up campsites and event activities.
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
* Significant outdoor Events experience in a customer-centric acquisition and commercial environment.
* Proven ability to create strong relationships with external business partners, sponsors and suppliers.
* Exposure and understanding of contract management including negotiations.
* Experience in producing and managing Event Safety Plans.
* Experience of managing Booking Systems.
* Knowledge and experience of sustainable issues as they relate to Events and Exhibitions.
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Budget development, management and Commercially astute
* Excellent relationship management skills
* Comfortable working as part of a team as well as on their own initiative
* Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritise effectively to ensure deadlines are met
* Positive and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
* Full UK driving licence. Extensive travel throughout the UK in support of Events, including weekends
* Professional Events Management qualification (or suitable work experience at management level) is required. Marketing or Health & Safety qualification desirable
