Legal Secretary - Employment
TSR Legal is delighted to be working with a highly regarded law firm in Reading, offering a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join their fast-paced and friendly Employment team.
As a Legal Secretary, you will play a crucial role in providing full administrative and secretarial support to the Fee Earners within the Employment department, ensuring a seamless and efficient service for both internal and external stakeholders. This is a full-time position, with office attendance required on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Experience & Attributes Required
Essential:
1. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a secretarial or administrative role.
2. Previous experience working in a legal environment.
3. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
5. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
6. High attention to detail and ability to use initiative.
7. Proven ability to manage a large workload in a fast-paced team.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
9. Experience handling financial and client account queries.
10. Previous Employment Law experience (advantageous but not essential).
11. Experience using case management systems.
12. Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal PA.
13. Familiarity with the Elite accounts package.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Producing accurate documentation, reports, and correspondence in line with standard office procedures.
2. Providing full secretarial and administrative support to the team.
3. Managing Fee Earners' diaries and coordinating meetings.
4. Monitoring and updating key court dates.
5. Handling general administrative tasks, including filing, answering calls, and liaising with clients.
6. Proofreading and formatting presentations.
7. Preparing billing guides, invoices, and timecards.
8. Liaising with clients regarding billing queries.
9. Producing spreadsheets to support invoicing and monitoring financial records.
10. Tracking disbursements and ensuring timely payments to third-party suppliers.
