About us
Dropmore Infant School is a small, friendly school in an idyllic rural setting, which has educated children in the local area for over 200 years. It is surrounded by open countryside with a large playing field and landscaped areas including an adventure playground, pond, vegetable plots, orchard and wild flower area. The school has benefited from much refurbishment and improvement over the recent years, but still retains its unique charm with the old thatched roof building.
We are strongly committed to developing the 'whole' child both personally and academically and are in a privileged position to offer small class sizes. We offer children an interesting, challenging and creative curriculum which caters for all abilities in a safe, happy and stimulating environment. We have high expectations for all the children that are placed in our care. We aim to create the foundations for them to become successful, confident and independent learners.
You will work with the class teacher and Special Needs Co-ordinator to modify plans, develop learning resources and build relationships which ensure the children you are working with can access the teaching and learning in the class.
About you
We are looking for a motivated, reliable, kind and caring person who is open to new ideas and enjoys working as part of a team.
You will be interested in special educational needs and feel confident to contribute to daily discussions to develop strategies to enhance the wellbeing, care, learning and progress of the children you are working with whilst also engaging with the rest of the class and children around the school.
This role succeeds when the children have regular, consistent care and is therefore suitable for someone with a strong work ethic who is reliable and punctual.
You will be an open and positive member of the team with a strong sense of equalities and fairness, seeing every child as an individual and helping them on their learning journey.
