What you will do in your working day
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
* To carry out repairs and carry out routine maintenance checks as per the service sheets provided and to ensure that a vehicle is in a safe condition as it should be.
* To undertake all vehicle servicing and Repairs, carry out preparations for MOTs.
* Fault diagnosis and defect rectification in line with manufacturer's recommendations.
* To help with the upkeep and cleanliness of the company vehicles (I.e. Courtesy Cars)
* To have a good technical knowledge of a wide range of vehicles, a high level of attention to detail and be able to work well with customers, maintaining a patient and friendly attitude.
* To present yourself in a smart and clean manner.
* Be able to interact with customers in the reception area and if needed to be able to serve customers when they are dropping off and collecting vehicles. (Training will be given in the use of the card machine and any other areas needed)
* Ensure that all administration including: job sheet/service sheets etc are completed with signed off including all parts used.
* Ensuring that the workshop is left clean, tidy and ready for work each day.
* You will adhere to the Health and Safety At Work Act in all aspects of your work.
* Work as a team player supporting the wider team, helping other members of the team with lifting or general advice.
The training you will be getting
* The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Service Technician Level 3.
* The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course.
* This is a Day Release programme which means you will attend Lincoln/Newark College, 1 day per week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.
