Role Overview
This temporary role will contribute to the production of all Cargo security systems routing, wiring, assembling, and installing electrical and electronic components to a very high standard.
Responsibilities
1. Routes, wires, assembles, and installs electrical and electronic components in a mobile truck system and fixed or gantry rail systems, such as main junction and terminal boxes, main control switch panels, and CCTV cameras, according to specifications, using jig boards, hand tools/power tools, (drills, etc.) and other equipment: Reads drawings and on occasions, schematics to specifications, to determine established assembly methods.
2. Cuts wire to specified lengths, using wire cutters.
3. Cuts plastic sleeves and slips sleeves over wire ends to insulate connections.
4. Crimps terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends, using hand or machine crimping device.
5. Routes, ties, and attaches wire to terminal points, according to layout, using hand tools.
6. Connects wiring to accessories, such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, switches, and solenoids and installs accessory assemblies in electrical or electronic units, using hand tools.
7. Conducts functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harness, and plugs, using ohmmeter, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments.
8. Working with 240v and 415v experience, also working with Cat5 cable would be advantageous.
9. Works to support the ISO standards.
Qualifications
1. Qualifications are not essential to this role but relevant hands-on experience in a rapidly changing environment is essential.
2. Attention to detail and production of a quality item are vital skills.
3. Experience of working with 240v and 415v also working with Cat5 cable would be advantageous.
