Job summary Contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective administrative service within the Department of Haematology. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 12 months due to the post being recruited as part of limited term funding within the Trust. Audio type clinicians letters from dictation Undertake administration functions for the department, such as data input, photocopying, filing, letter writing, etc.. Undertake accurate recording / inputting and amending of data within Trust information systems.. Communicate effectively with the use of tact and diplomacy, and seek to overcome barriers to effective communication. This may require the use of multiple communication methods, such as email, telephone, reception duties, etc.. Work collaboratively with the wider departmental team to ensure a consistent and effective Patient First service.. Actively use initiative within the role but seek guidance when required and appropriate.. Assist and support in the development and improvement of the service and in the implementation of Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.. Complete all mandatory training required by the Trust and actively participate in personal development.. Assist and support the development and training of new team members.. About us Clinical Haematology is based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and offers a comprehensive service to provide diagnosis and treatment for haematological disorders of both malignant and non-malignant disorders. Specialist treatments available include red cell exchange, chemotherapy, administration of coagulation factors, bone marrow transplant, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T cell) therapy and the collection, storage and transplantation of bone marrow and blood stem cells. We provide a wide range of services for our patients, including day care treatment, inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, clinical nurse specialist support, and pregnancy care (provided jointly with the maternity at the Jessops Hospital). We also offer care and treatment for patients with more rare immune haematological disorders including thrombotic thrombocytopenia (TTP), autoimmune haemolytic anaemia (AIHA) and haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH).
