The Role
This new position within our support team focuses on providing exceptional operational and administrative support. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual excited to contribute to the growth of Healx. As Finance and HR Administrator, you’ll make a meaningful impact by supporting key functions that drive Healx’s mission of accelerating drug discovery for rare diseases.
This is a hybrid role - you should be able to commute to the office 2-3 times a week, with flexibility on both sides. You’ll be based at our Cambridge HQ, just a short walk from Cambridge train station, and with the added convenience of free on-site parking.
The Team
You will work closely with both Finance and HR, as well as the wider operational team, streamlining administrative processes to ensure smooth operations and employee experience. The team collaborates across departments to effectively manage people and finances, providing solutions to meet the company’s fast-paced needs.
You'll be:
* Reconciling accounts accurately and promptly, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved efficiently
* Managing accounts payable process, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
* Responsible for managing payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accurate processing, compliance with regulations, and timely delivery of employee compensation and benefits
* Supporting the administrative side of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding team members, maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, assisting in the communication and enforcement of company policies
* Providing general office support, such as coordinating office supplies, managing correspondence, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
* Adaptable in providing administrative support across the operational teams, which could extend to supporting the IT, Legal or Marketing teams as needed
We’re looking for someone who has:
* Proven experience within finance and HR administration
* Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks
* A proactive mindset, with a strong desire to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement effective solutions
* An analytical approach and inquisitive mindset, capable of spotting inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements to processes
* Excellent communicator, able to engage others and build long term relationships
* Prior experience working within a start-up, scale-up or SME environment, demonstrating adaptability and an understanding of dynamic, fast-paced settings
It’s a bonus if you have:
* Prior experience in the biotech industry with a familiarity of its unique challenges and opportunities
* An AAT qualification
