The successful candidate will join a team of Consultant Radiologists with various subspecialty interests and will support the innovative re-design of Interventional Radiology Services for the patients of Swansea Bay and wider West Wales region.
The service is undergoing significant transformation, closely working with surgical specialties to expand the portfolio of interventions currently offered, along with developing an innovative training programme.
We are open to hybrid working options, and will support advanced clinical training, alongside leadership development for successful candidates. Above all, we are seeking colleagues who will enable a health vision for the population of West Wales by advancing our interventional radiology service to deliver at the highest level.
Main duties of the job
The post will involve close collaboration with Vascular and Renal specialties to support regional working, as well as providing interventional radiology for a wide range of other secondary and tertiary specialties. This is a replacement post joining one Vascular Interventional Radiologist and several GI/ GU radiologists with an interest in non vascular intervention.
There is a further retired vascular radiologist who returns for sessions ad hoc when required, and currently an agency locum interventional radiologist in post. The vascular radiology service is looking to expand.
There is a modern DSA suite in Morriston hospital, and a non vascular intervention fluoroscopy room was replaced and upgraded in 2021.
