Southend City Council have a great opportunity for a forward thinking, driven and compassionate individual to join the Educational Psychologist team who are committed to providing a first-class service to the children and families with SEND. As an Assistant Educational Psychologist, you will assist the educational Psychology Service ( EPS ) delivering core and traded services involving early intervention work in schools, early years, and other settings to include young people from 0 to 25 years and in Education. You will support the EPS in working at the individual, group, and organisational level under the guidance of qualified Educational Psychologists. You will join EPs in working at the individual, group, and organisational level, assessing and observing individual young people, meeting with relevant professionals, working alongside parents and carers, devising intervention programmes, evaluating special educational needs and provision, making and disseminating useful resources, and training. As an Assistant Educational Psychologist, you will undertake research, design, and development of training materials and where appropriate co-deliver sessions under the guidance and supervision of a qualified EP. You will work on behalf of, and provide support to, children and young people with Additional Educational Needs (AEN) and the adults working with them, under the direction and supervision of a qualified EP.
