We are seeking a skilled Acoustic Applications Engineer to join our client's team. This role is critical to designing and optimising acoustic solutions, specifically for generator systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance noise levels, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities of an Acoustic Applications Engineer
* Develop and implement noise-reduction solutions for generator systems and steel enclosures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Work closely with design, fabrication, and fit-out teams to integrate acoustic considerations into manufacturing processes.
* Apply knowledge of generator systems to address acoustic challenges and optimize overall performance.
* Conduct on-site acoustic performance testing, analysing results to recommend improvements.
* Collaborate with clients to understand specific acoustic requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
* Stay up-to-date with relevant standards, such as ISO and BS noise regulations, to ensure all designs are compliant.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, equipment, labour & sub-contract expenses using the tools provided.
Required Skills & Qualifications of an Acoustic Applications Engineer
* Proven experience in acoustic engineering, with a focus on power generation or related industries.
* Strong understanding of generator systems and their operational dynamics desirable.
* Proficiency in acoustic modelling software (e.g., SoundPLAN, CadnaA) and measurement tools desirable.
* Ability to interpret and apply industry regulations and standards for noise control.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in complex engineering challenges.
