If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Subcontracts Lead, reporting directly to the Subcontracts Manager to join our NZT team based in Teesside, UK.
About the Job
We are seeking a Subcontracts Lead to join the Project team in the North-East. You will be responsible for developing and managing the TENs subcontracts team on-site and will report into the Site Manager and Project Directorate.
The successful candidate will be site based once the site office is established (within 12-18 months) but until then, will work on a hybrid basis, attending the Milton Keynes and London offices as required.
1. Manage awarded Construction & EPC Subcontracts, principally under NEC4 framework.
2. Prepare amendments to the Subcontracts.
3. Receive and reply to all Subcontractor's letters.
4. Ensure compliance with contractual provisions included in Subcontracts by the construction site team.
5. Prepare and send out Calls For Bid, negotiate, prepare and award local Subcontracts and ensure the application of Compliance requirements.
6. Follow-up, manage Variation requests issued by Subcontractors and evaluate their contractual and financial entitlement according to the procedure set up in the construction guide document.
7. Follow-up, manage Variation requests initiated by TENs.
8. Formalise settlement of disputes or disagreements to ensure TENs contractual protection until work completion.
9. Ensure collection and consolidation of the information required for completion and closure of subcontracts without disputes after work completion.
10. Accurate weekly reporting on project subcontract matters to key project stakeholders.
11. Ongoing coordination with both our partners and clients to provide a collaborative, harmonious and consolidated basis for the project.
About You
1. Extensive experience in the management of subcontracts on complex construction projects, with specific focus on NEC4.
2. Team worker with the ability to work with diverse personalities and cultures.
3. Focused, diligent and structured with the ability to deliver critical results on tight deadlines.
4. Management and leadership skills.
5. Ability to quickly immerse yourself in sometimes technical and complex subjects and organizations.
6. Mastery of Microsoft Office suite of tools.
