Job Description
I am seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a well-renowned regional house builder, with residential projects spread across South, East & West Yorkshire, as well as the North West and Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in house building to contribute to the delivery of high-quality developments, with a clear line of progression to Site Manager.
As an Assistant Site Manager, you will support the day-to-day operations of our sites, ensuring that each project is delivered to the highest standards of quality. Working closely with the Site Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of the build, from inception through to final handover, ensuring that every detail is managed with care and precision.
The Sites where requirements are needed are located in West and South Yorkshire, the client is flexible and will try to place potential candidates to closest available sites to their current living address.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist the Site Manager in overseeing the successful delivery of residential projects, ensuring they are completed on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards.
2. Ensure that all work carried out on-site complies with health and safety regulations and maintain a strong focus on safety and quality control.
3. Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring that work is carried out efficiently and to the required standards.
4. Monitor site progress, identify potential issues, and address them proactively to avoid delays and ensure the quality of work remains top priority.
5. Ensure the site is organised, with the appropriate management of materials and resources to minimise wastage and optimise efficiency.
6. Maintain accurate site documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and health and safety records.
7. Foster strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project.
8. Support the Site Manager in ensuring that all projects meet the required quality benchmarks, exceeding client expectations.
What They’re Looking For
1. A strong background in house building with experience in residential construction projects.
2. A commitment to delivering high-quality work, ensuring that every project meets or exceeds quality standards.
3. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider site team.
4. A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to apply them on-site.
5. A hands-on, proactive approach to site management, with a focus on problem-solving and ensuring quality control.
6. A relevant construction qualification (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid) would be beneficial, but not essential.
7. Flexibility to work across multiple sites in South, East & West Yorkshire.
