Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure compliance with the Trust's Risk Management Policies and Procedures. Job description
Job responsibilities
1. Use clinical skills and knowledge to provide specialist advice and support to peer group staff, clients, and service managers.
2. Act as a clinical expert and positive role model for all staff.
3. Provide professional leadership, advice, and guidance to nursing and non-nursing staff within the nursing environment and foster collaborative partnerships with other disciplines.
4. Lead in the development of clinical standards ensuring these are set, embedded, and monitored in accordance with the needs of the service in conjunction with the senior OH team.
5. Provide a comprehensive Occupational Health Service within agreed remit to all managers and staff.
6. Assist the Trust in promoting and maintaining the health of staff.
7. Ensure health issues are dealt with in a professional manner within the post holder's area of competence.
8. Advise, within own area of knowledge and competence, service users regarding their health, safety, and welfare at work.
9. Support the delivery of Occupational Health Services to NHS clients and commercial employers within the remit of the contract specified.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* Registered General Nurse.
* Post-registration, Occupational Health qualification / NMC specialist registration.
Knowledge
Essential
* Ongoing professional development.
* Good knowledge of clinical governance.
* Key issues and developments in nursing.
Experience
Essential
* Significant post-registration experience in a variety of primary and secondary care clinical settings.
* Significant experience at Band 6 or above in more than one area of practice.
* Experience of managing staff.
Skills

* IT skills.
* Venepuncture, cannulation.
* Immunisation and vaccination.
