Assistant Patient Administrator - Band 2 Ward Clerk
Working Hours: Monday - Sunday 08.00 - 20.00 (Weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota)
We are searching for a high performing, enthusiastic, and empathetic individual to work in the Inpatient Wards. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high quality, safe, and compassionate healthcare to patients. You will be expected to provide administrative support to a diverse team including clinical staff. The successful applicant will be expected to provide an excellent level of customer service at all times in line with the Trust values.
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high quality, safe, and compassionate healthcare to patients by supporting and welcoming patients into services in a way that meets their individual needs. The Patient Administrator will also provide administrative support to a team, liaising between patients, doctors, practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. The staff member will work consistently to provide high quality customer service and will be professional at all times. The post holder will be required to work in one of the following areas, providing cross cover where necessary:
1. Wards
2. Reception

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide administrative support to the clinical team in the assigned team and provide cover across the Trust’s administrative resource.
2. File all paperwork appropriately.
3. Provide cover across the POD as and when required.
4. Ensure all procedures are followed regarding data capture for service-specific outcomes.
5. Provide an excellent standard of service to patients at all times.
6. Adhere to trust-wide standard operating procedures and policies developed for clinical administrative processes and participate in their development.
7. Photocopying and filing.
8. Answering phones.
9. Greeting relatives as they enter the ward.
10. Booking follow-up appointments.
11. Booking transport.
