Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to work one-on-one with a Year 7 student in Caldicot. This role is perfect for someone who has a passion for supporting students with additional learning needs and wants to help them thrive. In this role, you’ll work closely with a Year 7 student, providing personalized support to help them overcome behavioural and emotional challenges. By building a positive, trusting relationship, you’ll foster a supportive environment that encourages growth and resilience in their educational journey. A large part of this role will involve sports indoor and outdoors. If you have previous experience as a sports coach or are a sports graduate, we encourage you to apply for this position. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will: Provide tailored one-on-one support to a Year 7 pupil with additional learning needs, focusing on positive behavioural management. Help the student build social and emotional skills in a way that promotes confidence and independence. Collaborate closely with teaching staff and other support professionals to ensure consistent, aligned care. Use sports as an intervention, this may include football, Rugby, tennis, Hockey and Table Tennis to name a few. Candidate Qualities: Reliability and Flexibility: Adaptable and responsive to the evolving needs of the student. Approachability and Patience: Able to form a nurturing connection with students, especially those who require extra support. Relevant Experience: Previous experience supporting children with behavioural or additional learning needs is preferred. Passion for Student Success: Enthusiasm for helping students build resilience and reach their full potential. Strong Behavioural Management Skills: Ability to guide and support students through challenging situations. Personal experience of working with children with challenging behaviour. Requirements: Enhanced DBS Clearance: Registered on the update service or a willingness to apply. EWC Registration: Or a willingness to apply.
