To provide a high-profile visible presence and clinical expertise, managerial leadership and coordination of the operational function for the whole hospital on all sites over a 24-hour period.
To be the point of contact for all staff within the Trust and to assist and support patients and the public with their enquiries and complaints. Liaise with the Senior Duty Manager (SDM), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO) and On Call Director (OCD), Care Group management teams and department leads.
To contribute to and actively manage the emergency and elective admission process, across the site and capacity, in order to provide safe and appropriate patient placement and achievement of related Trust targets whilst maintaining contingency plans for emerging issues.
To triage adult in-patient in the acute hospital setting in line with the patient flow policy, providing treatment under Management Pathways independently as a Clinical Site Manager, and referring patients to the appropriate medical and outreach teams if required.
To provide senior nursing and managerial support and advice to all clinical areas within the Trust.
Co-ordinate the Trust’s Emergency Response Team to fire, security alerts, clinical emergencies and immediate first line Management of Major / Serious incidents as required.
Working with senior colleagues take responsibility for the management of the emergency planning and elective process across the Trust, safe and appropriate patient placement and the achievement of related Trust targets.
Responsibilities ‘out of hours’ for the operational management of the Trust, implementing Policies and Procedures as required and providing support and advice to Trust employees.
The post holder will be responsible for dealing with patient and relative complaints out of hours and reporting, as well as making initial investigations of complaints, incidents, near misses or serious untoward incidents and ensuring that immediate action plans are put in place to safely deal with the same.
To undertake the lead role out of hours in co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating clinical site management services provided across different specialities and Care Groups.
